Welcome to Bingara Pony Club Annual Mini Camp 2020.

Volunteers run our Pony Club and it is expected that all parents take an active role. Parents & helpers are essential to the overall smooth running of Bingara Pony Club and our mini camp.

We are doing our best to run the Mini Camp and must adhere to the COVID-19 Guidelines and risk assessment. Please note this mini camp is only open to Bingara Pony Club members.

Start time:

A meeting will be held on Wednesday at 9:00am in front of the jockey rooms for all parents and riding children to attend.

 Meals:

A BBQ lunch is included with your registration fee for the rider and volunteers.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please bring your own morning tea, afternoon tea and water bottles.

Working With Children Check:

All volunteers are required to have a current Working With Children Check. If you need to apply for a WWCC, the link is https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-working-children-check.

If you haven't previously provided your WWCC to Bingara Pony Club, please submit details to our Membership Officer by email bingaraponyclub@hotmail.com

First Aid:

 As per PCA NSW Guidelines, in the event of an accident or emergency, first aid will be administered and if required an ambulance will be called.

COVID-19:

Please download the COVID Safe App.

All attendees will be required to complete a Self COVID-19 Declaration. A copy will be sent to you when you have completed registration. Please bring this with you on 1st day of mini-camp.

Please limit spectators to a reasonable number at any one time and adhere to physical distancing guidelines.

Please do not attend our mini-camp if you are unwell. If you become unwell while on site, you will be asked to leave.

Please do not attend if you have been to any locations listed in the sections "Self-isolate and get tested immediately" or "Monitor for symptoms." If you have been to any areas and suburbs with increased testing and have any mild COVID-19 symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat, please get tested and do not attend our event until you have proof of a negative test result.

You are unable to attend if you have visited Victoria in the 14 days prior to the event.

Please bring your own PPE to the event if you wish to utilise this.

Competition Day:

Due to the shortened program and restrictions in place regarding people who can attend the showground, there will be no official ribbon day. In lieu, we will be running a competition day. Please return all perpetual trophies and zone trophies ASAP.

Camping:

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no camping in dorms. Children are not permitted to camp on the grounds without an adult present.

Horses, Riding Equipment & Instruction:

• All children must have a suitable horse.
• During instruction periods, the instructor is in charge of riding children; please do not interfere while your child is under instruction – if you have a concern please speak with the Chief Instructor first.
• No child is to be mounted unless under instruction of an instructor.
• Under 7 riders and beginner riders must be accompanied by an adult or guardian at all times.
• Helmets must meet current PCA NSW Standards (ASNZ 3838, ASTMF1163 or EN1384). The Standards label must be visible on the helmet.
• Riding boots should be elastic sided with slip soles.
• All riders including Instructors must wear a helmet whilst mounted.

• No one ( rider or non-rider or visitor) is to be in the horse area with thongs/slides/sandals.
• No horses allowed near clubhouse or dorm areas.
• No vehicles are to be parked near stables or horse marshalling areas.
• A parent or guardian is to be in attendance for riders requiring assistance.
• Horses are the responsibility of their owners, this is to include feeding and watering. Each child must have grooming, cleaning, water and feed containers.
• All saddlery must comply with Pony Club rules to include a 2/3 buckle girth or girth and surcingles; all stitching must be in good order with all gear fitting well and being safe and suitable
• No rider is permitted to ride another person’s horse.
• All horse welfare issues must be addressed with the Horse Welfare Officers or the Chief Instructor.
• Riders are to walk at all times unless specifically advised by an instructor.
• Riders will not leave a session without permission from the instructor.

General:
• PCA NSW rules apply.
• All riders must be current financial members of PCA NSW with proof of membership provided prior to commencement of Mini Camp.
• The executive committee are responsible for decisions and settling of disputes.
• Dogs are to tied up or confined at all time.
• Rudeness, inappropriate behaviour or bad language will not be tolerated. Riders and parents can be asked to report to a disciplinary committee to discuss any incidents and resulting disciplinary action.
• Parents and riders are to promote good sportsmanship and club spirit.
Concerns, problems and complaints are to be taken to the President, Secretary or Treasurer. Bullying in any form will not be tolerated.
• Mobile phones will not be permitted to be carried by any children during horse riding instruction.
• Small children should be supervised at all times and are not to sit/climb on any of the railings, stables or jumping equipment.
