COME & TRY RING
The Come & Try Ring is for riders wanting a taste of Dressage and are not at a level where they feel they can enter official events. All riders are encouraged to enter, especially those who have never had a go at dressage. Lots of support and encouragement will be provided.
Riders who compete in official events (i.e. MEA, EA, Pony Club, Ag Shows or other Club events) are not eligible to enter this ring. It is only for inexperienced dressage riders.
This Ring DOES NOT count towards the Zone 18 Championship.
Riders must wear formal Pony Club uniform. Horses must be neatly presented however plaiting is not required. Tack must be as close as possible to the requirements as per the PCANSW Blue Book Section 10 Dressage.
HC (non-competitive) horses are permitted for riders in the Official Ring only. If number of entries are too high, limitations on HC horses will apply. If your HC horse will not be permitted to enter, a full refund will be provided.
HC horses will be judged and receive feedback sheets but will not contest in places for either the individual tests or the Championship points.
Uniform and tack as per competitive horses (see next section).
HC will not count towards the Zone 18 Championships but provides an opportunity for riders to gain a performance experience on a second horse.
This event is open to all current financial junior and associate members of PCANSW, regardless of their zone.
Attendance and Performance cards must be handed in during registration. For Come & Try attendees, only a Rally Day Attendance card is required.
Riders must have attended 3 rallies in the past 24 months to be eligible for Grade Champion. Boarding students and those heavily affected by Covid will be eligible for an exception. Club Secretaries must email firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday 10th December to apply for exemption.
All riders will be eligible for places in each test and there will be a Champion for each class. In addition, Zone 18 riders will be eligible for the overall Zone 18 Champion per grade.
Riders must be competent at their chosen level.
One horse, one rider. Official Ring riders only may bring HC horses. (See section below on HC Horses).
Every family must provide at least one volunteer.
There will be an end-of-day presentation.
Ribbons will be awarded to 5th place in both Official and Come & Try rings.
Event Champion and Zone 18 Champion will be the rider with the most points over the Championship tests in each age group.
Results/feedback sheets will be available for collection at the end of the day.
No responsibility will be accepted by the NPC or Zone 18 in the event of any accident or damage.
All riders must be supervised by a responsible parent or guardian whilst on the grounds and must not leave the showground without permission of the responsible parent or guardian.
Camping (inc toilets and showers) at the showground available for a fee.
Program can be changed at the discretion of the NPC committee at any time.
Canteen availability will be confirmed closer to the event as this will be Covid-dependant.
Covered yards will be available for Saturday night and Sunday use. All yards must be cleaned out prior to departure.
This is an event for Junior and Associate riders only as we need all adults to help run the day. No persons over the age of 26 years are permitted to ride at any point during the day.
