Pony Club Mounted Games is a team sport that requires agile and accurate riders and ponies. The Mounted Games competitions provide Pony Club riders with a competition that requires courage, determination, and all-round riding ability on the part of the rider and careful and systematic training of your mount.
Instruction in Mounted Games will teach teamwork, accuracy agility, concentration, speed, hand to eye coordination and good sportsmanship, all while having fun. The objective of this Regional School is to encourage a higher standard of riding and to stimulate a greater interest in Mounted Games amongst Pony Club members. It is hoped that with the high level of instruction delivered in both rules and regulations and the 'how-to' for individual events that Zone 27 will be able to enter a team in the Pony Club State Mounted Games Championships later in the year.
Maureen Purdie is our Instructor for the Mounted Games Regional School. Maureen will be assisted by Rebecca Purdie. Both Saturday and Sunday will commence with Gear Check from 9.30am, with instruction to commence at 10am. The days will conclude at approximately 3.30pm.
Attendees need to be 8 years of age and over, up to Associate. It is preferred that attendees hold their D proficiency certificate. Preference will be given to riders from within Zone 27 that are keen to learn more about Mounted Games with a view to competing for Zone 27 Pony Club in Pony Club Mounted Games teams in the future.
Camping is not available at Goulburn Pony Club grounds. Attendees will need to bring their own food & drink with them as catering will not be provided on this weekend. Toilet facilities are provided.
