Sunday 4th October 2020
Location: Bega Showgrounds
Event details: PCANSW Riders Cup Competition (details Below)
Pony Club Mount (workout supplied to entrants before event)
Flag Race (with sanitisation)
In and Out of the paddock
PLEASE READ AS IT IS ALL IMPORTANT AS SOME THINGS WILL BE DIFFERENT TO OUR USUAL EVENTS TO MEET PCANSW AND COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS.
Entries will be through MyPonyClub.com.au This is a requirement for the PCANSW Riders Cup. If you are not familiar with this system please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0429 026 558 for help, or contact your club registrar. You will need your member number and password. If you renewed your membership online, you will be familiar with it.
All spectators are strongly urged to wear facemasks – even though we have no active Covid cases in the area, we would like this to be the start of being able to hold pony club events again. This is a PCANSW directive for all clubs from the NSW Health Minister. Hand sanitisation stations will be located in important areas, so frequent sanitisation is encouraged.
This is an event being hosted by Bega Pony Club, but run as a Zone 14 event – therefore we need helpers. Whilst current information encourages only one parent/caregiver per child to attend to keep numbers lower, we also need helpers to assist in running the day. Bega Pony Club will be running the canteen, so we need volunteers to fill timekeeping, penciling, set up/pack up, pole pick up etc. On entering this event, we will ask for a name of an adult who is prepared to help and preferred jobs – we will then use discretion with helpers. If more people help, it means most jobs are only small and everyone gets a chance to watch their children as well.
A QR code will be supplied for check-in, this will be monitored and anyone arriving at gear check without providing their data in this way will need to supply a Covid health declaration to pass gear check. Gear check will be contactless so all riders must come with an adult or be able to adjust gear where necessary.
Social distancing needs to be adhered to – please stay at least 1.5m away from others. Be mindful of this whether on a horse or not.
PCANSW Riders Cup:
This event is an AM7 event. The layout and heights are supplied by PCANSW. This event will be placed as usual for the day, but all results will be sent to PCANSW and they will collate them onto a statewide results sheet, and placings 1st – 5th will be awarded from PCANSW also. Whilst this is a competitive event it is still a fun event and not run to replace a state championship. All riders E grade and above are included. Intro riders will be able to complete the course like usual but as they are non-competitive, results will not be forwarded. On the entry page, there are two separate AM7 events listed – one Rider Cup one not. That is because there is an extra fee charged by PCANSW for this event. We want to give our riders the option and if you do not wish to participate in the Riders Cup, you can still compete at the gymkhana. Please make sure you enter for your correct jumping grade, rider class and sporting ages.
Jump grades will be as usual – A, B, C, D, E and Intro. The PCANSW placings will separate associates but as our numbers are not high enough to warrant that, associates will score with Jr riders for our zone places.
Rider classes- Workout for PC Mount will be supplied to all entrants to practice before the event, and whilst will be similar, it will have modifications to make it appropriate for each group. Age groups as follows: Under 8, 8-10 Adv, 10-13Adv, 13-15Adv, 15-17Adv, 17-26Adv, 8-Under 13 Novice, 13-Under 26 Novice.
Assisted and unassisted riders are welcome and will do some riding and the sporting events (one run only). They cannot compete in jumping though.
Sporting: Double chance sporting. Best time will count only.
Placings: 1st – 5th in all events, Age Champion and Reserve.
A canteen will run so please remember this needs to be maintained as Covid safe whilst lining up.
A multi draw raffle will run, clubs will be in contact about the details of this. As this year has been very hard on local businesses with the fires and then Covid, we are thinking outside the box rather than just requesting donations. This will be a little different than usual as again we have to make it Covid Safe.
We hope you will all support this event both in entries and help on the day – if this event is well supported, it will pave the way for us to start having Zone events again.
This event is only open to Zone 14 Riders per PCANSW requirements.
